We have an application that logs into our Symposium on a regular basis. Yesterday it was not working and when investigating we found that the password had expired. WE were able to change it and log in again with no trouble.

I didn't find any settings for a password expiration date, where is this at or how do I change it?

don't think you can fix the password in rls 4.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

John,
in SCCS 4.0 Nortel introduced a force password change that occured every 180 days "usually". They used some fancy mathematical formula to come up with the time frame. There was no option in the original versions.

Good Luck

Everyone I have mentioned this to said the same thing, but the problem I am having explaining this to the powers that be is that not everyone is having to change their passwords. So when i tell them it is built in and we cant change it, then they ask why so and so doesnt have to change theirs.

Well, you don't have to explain anything...give them this...this is straight from nortel. If, after seeing this and they still bitch...tell them to waste someone elses time.

Problem Description

Fact:
SCCS
Symposium Call Center Server
SCCS 3.0
SCCS 4.0
Desktop user
Password

Symptom:
Desktop user password expires.
Password expiry not stated in User Guide.
Unclear help on SCCS client.

Cause:
SCCS 3.0 introduces the requirement for all desktop users to change their password. Neither Guides nor Addenda indicate this. SCCS client Help indicates that validity duration is either 30 days or 180 days.

Problem Resolution

Fix:
From source code investigation, all desktop users (including sysadmin) in SCCS 3.0 and SCCS 4.0 must change their password every 180 days. Password change requirement and validity duration are hard-coded.

Thats a great answer, thanks!
