Hello,
We are looking at streamlining our setup for some of our truly mobile folks. The roi is unbelieveable, what I am interested in is the application and some feedback from others on this.
We have a hosted, colocation facility with a 100MB pipe in it. Each location that our mobil warriors would visit have at minimum a full T of data, with a direct VPN back to the colo through netscreen 5 firewalls feeding a netscreen 50 firewall at the colo. They each also have a newer laptop (past year) with a VPN client on them, and EVDO cellular cards, giving them about cable modem speed and latency anywhere they get cell coverage.
Is this a practical idea? No physical phones for them. Just straight softphones, with a DID and ext. How is the qos? I know this depends on the circuit. We have the bandwidth.
Thoughts, concerns, am I crazy?
Thanks,
Michael
