Expert help required!

Hi,

I'm currently after some expert programmer who can programe or knows where to download a php/side sever script to make auto thumbnails of web pages on my own server.

example (put in your web address to see script in action)

It generates a live copy of your site? Please help me with the programming of this script.

p.s. Please do post any comments about free web page thumbnail services like Alexa.com because I know about these and really need it to run from my own server.

shouldn't be too difficult. i guess what you're really asking is how to convert html to an image. creating thumbnails from images is easy.

i don't know of any direct converter that is freeware. for a commercial solution you could try

which has a cli version of its software for use with a server side process.

for a (more or less) freeware kludge you could try this:

1. convert the webpage to postscript using html2ps (

2. use imagemagik to convert the resultant ps file to png

should be pretty quick too.
