Aloha! I'm a new user on Tek-Tips, but have worked on computers since 1959. I now own a Systems Engineering firm in Hawaii.
I'm building a dual-Xeon server for a client that needs nearly a terabyte of on-line storage, & equivalent real-time backup.
My solution is to create two RAID-5 storage subsystems using Arena Fidy cases < with four 200-GB 7200-rpm EIDE hard-drives. This gives 600 GB of storage in each subsystem, & I'll be using IBM Tivoli to provide real-time backup from case 1 to case 2.
Has anyone else tried this? If so, I would appreciate details on what you've experienced, especially on disconnecting case 2 to take off-site each night for backup.
Mahalo! (Thanks!)
