Does anyone have experience with the Avaya Gigabit Adapter for 46xx and 56xx IP Phones?

I want to install a couple of these Adapters.

What do I have to consider?

nothing really, it is just a little box you place with whatever phone you would like to have a 1G switch port on

We have a lot of trouble with these adapters.

Every few days we have to reboot the adapters.

Have somebody experience with this adapter?

The IP Traffic may not pass through the adapter.
The phones have no IP contact to the network. After the reset it works fine.

Where do you have the adapter placed? Is it before the phone, or after the phone and before the computer?

It is placed between the 1G switch and the phone.

i am not sure off the top of my head, but isnt it supposed to go after the phone

No, because the phone will not pass though 1gb.

PC
it goes 1gb LAN Switch --> adapter <
Phone
the adapter is just a 3 port gig switch that uses POE and passes POE to the phone.
