I have a maxed out BCM400 4.0 It's configured 6/2 and has 1 PRI and 5 DSM32s. I've started to hook up phones to the last DSM32 and I get a funny problem when I make an outbound call.
When I dial 9 to access a channel the phone beeps 3 times and gives me the message "expensive route" on the display then I get my secondary dial tone and everything is good to go.
This is a stand alone system and the only route I have set up is the one that accesses the PRI line pool. Like I said this only happens on the phones that are connected to ports on this one particular DSM, but I don't see how the DSM could be causing the symtom.
Has anyone seen this before and if so what was the resolution. Or any ideas on what I can try first. I plan on swapping around DSMs at some point to see if the problem follows the DSM but I wanted to see if maybe it was a programming issue first.
