I'm looking to expand my ACS rel.7 system. i ran out of slots and i would like to find out what equipment i would have to purchase. Thank you for your anticipated help.

A 5-slot carrier is all you have for growth. How is your system configured? If you need more stations and aren't using the CO line ports on a 308EC you could swap it for a 012 station module.

If that isn't viable you could install a Magix system instead and use ETR modules so that you could keep your Partner phones in service.

like he said the 012E or depending on the needs you can, and I have, actually chained 2 five slot carriers with each other. Carrier 1 must have either an ASA/DXD or partner mail card
Please decribe what you want it to do??

Isn't there a physical limitation on stations? Something like 46?
IIRC you can't address anything beyond a certain number because it doesn't exist in the numbering plan.

Hi
Yes the MAX # of sta is 48 per 5 slot carrier --HOWEVER you can connect 2 seperate carriers if carrier A has ASA/DXD thru trunks. Please tell me exactly what you want the system to do?? You can chain 2 but on each the sta will be 10(0)up to 58. Carrier B will be 10 (0) thru 57
It does work. BEEN THERE DONE IT = partner maxed out and thehave a great day

If Partner Messaging is using a needed slot, you can add an outside voice mail unit like DuVoice.

carrier A put sta 50, 52 , 53 etc as incomming trunks to carrier B

If you've grown the Partner ACS to the maximum, I would agree with exsmogger and suggest going with a Merlin Magix.

Note that the Partner ACS & Merlin Magix have both been discontinued by Avaya, but there is a lot of hardware available on the secondary market.

The IP Office is the replacement, but there is a limit to the number of Partner phones you can migrate to the Partner verison of the IP Office. The rest of the extensions would need to be replaced by 1400 series telephones.

I would go the IP Office Partner Version over the Magix. It is pretty inexpensive, especially since the mail is embedded, and the 14xx phones are a good option going forward. I don't care for the IP Office/Partner Version compared to a full blown IP Office, but it works great as a Partner expansion and the DID that actually works plus the easier to use voicemail are great improvements. Although you can't use the analog ports on the combo card and the voicemail to email doesn't work with a carrier that won't give you a fixed IP address...
