Has anyone had any issues w/sidecars (7916-24 Expansion Modules) on 7965 and 7975 phones when enabling the electronic hookswitch option and using and EHS-compatible wireless headsets, i.e., Plantronics & Jabra?

We've used these EHS-compatible headsets for some time with several models of phones (7942, 7945, 7965, 7975) without any issues. However, when used with expansion modules we've seen a few instances of the sidecar losing all functionality, i.e., going blank and requiring a hard reset (disconnecting the Ethernet cable) to get it to come back.

The jack where the expansion module connects to the phone is the same jack used by the wireless headset to control the switchook, thus when using both in conjunction you must connect the expansion module(s) first (daisy-chained together when there are two) then attaching the headset control cable to the last jack in the chain.

The headsets work fine in this configuration, but the sidecars to which the headset control cable is attached intermittently stop working. Even when there are instances of 2 sidecars + the EHS control cable, both sidecars will periodically lose their display (and button functionality) until the phone is reset, i.e., a full power-off & ethernet cable disconnected.

I have about 3 dozen sidecars in use, most in single-gang configurations but a few in double-gang configurations. The only ones I'm having trouble with are those where the end-user is using the electronic switchook control.

Thoughts appreciated.

Plug it directly in to the last aux port on the last sidecar and see if that clears your issue.

That's where it's connected. (That's the only place where you can connect it when you have 2 sidecars, unless you know something I don't)

Sorry I misunderstood what you meant when you said daisychanined, I read into it you had then connected together on the first port somehow, not in series across all the ports.
