I work as a fundraiser, but was handed the phone manual at a small non-profit, so I am asking for help. We upgraded to the Partner ACS 6.0 with T1 lines last year. However, the system has never been able to meet our needs - we don't have enough phone lines available for all areas. I've been told that the by two seperate sources that our 5 slot system is full. One source suggested purchasing a whole new phone system (not an option) or purchasing cell phones (not an attractive option). The other source suggested adding a new cabinet, splitting the T1 line, andprurchasing another block of lines. My question: is this third option possible? Suggestions?

You are talking about adding a 2nd system completely seperate from the original system.

If I read your post right they suggested splitting the T1,( that won't work with the other system unless they are coming in on a channel bank), If you add another system they will be independent of each other.
Can you tell us exactly how many lines and station you have now and how the lines are coming in, it would help us to understand your situation better and perhaps help you with a solution.

A trusted source for years.

Charles,
If this site is large enough to have outgrown your system, it is time to lok at a larger one. If so, I'd recommend the Magix with TDL phones, or the iP Office (with the same phones). Your source that recommended this may not have been off base. As unattractive as it is cost wise, it may be cheaper in the long run.
Two systems will be a nightmare unless you have at least two distinct and separate groups, in which case that is an option. You are buying another system with this option.
Cell phones may not be cost effective.

So, how many CO lines and how many extensions do you need? What is your current system configuration?
