what is the best way for me to determine how many additional users i can add to my existing Opt 11? Do i start by counting the sets in ld 81? list my unused 3900 ports? Thank you.
what does (U/P 3043313) used: 905230 tot: 3948543 mean exactly? i assume that's some kind of memory.
Disk space needed: 222 kbytes. What's that?
there's a whole bunch of other stuff about 2MB & 4MB backup disketts needed and 1 projected.
It also says I have 800 total TNs and 72 available. What type of TNs are these? digital and/or analog? Thank you very much for your help.
UNPROTECTED DATA...THINGS THAT ARE NOT PROTECTED. DIALTONE IS ONE OF THESE UNPROTECTED ITEMS...PROTECTED ITEMS SUCH AS
PROGRAMMING ON A PHONE. K? LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE 72 TNS
AVAIL. THIS MEANS WHATEVER TAKS A TN (SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO ADD 97 NEW PHONES.....TRKS...ANALOG OR DIGTL. YOU CAN ONLY ADD 72 ......YOU NEED TO PURCHASE MORE TNS. FROM NT. TO ADD MORE...K
LD 81 does not count the trunks, miran, DTRs etc. Each one of those take up a TN. Anthing programed such as station (digital or analog) trunk (digital, analog, ITG, RAN etc) or DTRs. Mail ports also take up TN. A TN (terminal number) is all of these.
ACD does not take up TNs but does take up ACD AGTs or ACD D Ns
what does SLT stand for? I printed it and it says TNs 500, left 33, used 467. So i have enough room to install 33 TNs (whether phones, 500 sets, etc). Is there any way to remotely tell whether I have any free slots left for additional cards? I am not on site. thank you.
AST stands for Associate Set Assignment for Meridian link applications.
Until Rel 25.15 you had to purchase these licenses if you use a particular over an M-link (e.g. Genesys). as of 25.15 this is set to 4000. You can probably purchase more, but I think you wouldn't need it.
To check: in LD 11 (20) you can see if a phone is recognized by this system as the AST options reffer to 1 or 2 keys.
an example: AST 0 1 means that over your link, keys 0 and 1 are monitored (e.g. ACD key and SCR key).
AST settings are not copied to other sets.
thank you very much for all this helpful information. Based on LD 11 I show TNs AVAIL: 72 USED: 728 TOT: 800. Based on an SLT in LD 22 I show TNs 500, left 33, used 467. So now i don't know whether I have 33 or 72 TNs. And did I start with 500 or 800 TNs?
Seems to me by reading the thread that the "72" number came from something Gumpus posted not something from your switch. But then, later, you posted the same numbers. If everything posted is true then you may have some sort of conflict where one area shows 72 TNs available and another shows 33 TNs available. If there is a conflict then sysload the PBX and print these two areas again (SLT and LD 11).
IN BOth load 11 and load 22 i am showing 32 unused TNs. So i guess that I can add 32 new users (not including conf rooms, etc). please verify that this is correct based on the info below. thank you.

Nortel sells hardware and software... we've just looked at the software here. You have 32 more TNs that could be created in software. You also must have hardware (unused ports on an existing card in the switch). Use LD 20 and LUVU to determine how many unused hardware TNs you have left. You can also use the LUC command (still LD 20) to tell what card slots are avaliable to add cards.
maybe you want to place LD 30 in the midnight routine once and print out the result the next day. this will check all digital sets if they are physically connected and if not disables them (these ports can of course be reused).
Check Midnigh routine:
