expanding boxes

I am trying to design a worksheet. however I need to keep the sheet to one page.

my problem is that the boxes won't stay fixed when writing. when the cursor gets to the side I hit return the box extends too. This causes the page to expand and go over one page format.I can handle if I end up writing sooo much I actually get to the end of the box but not after the first line.

how do I format boxes so that they stay the same size when writing several lines?

Do you mean cell or do you have a literal box?
