I have a LSI raid card which I had a Raid 6 setup using 5 2TB drives. So this gave me a 6TB drive. When I first setup the drive I didn't notice but Server2003 set it up as a Basic drive (Z).

I just added 3 more 2TB to the unit, added those drives to the Raid 6 on the LSI. When I went to Disk Management those new drives showed up as an unformatted drive.

So I converted the original (Z) drive to dynamic, then expanded the drive.

Disk Management shows that the drive is the correct size (12TB) but they are still shown as two partitions.

What am I missing/doing wrong?

Did you create a new LUN on your LSI card or did you expand the existing one?

Expanded - I believe - Please see attached

Anyone have an idea to point me in the direction to solve/understand this?

What service pack are you running on this server?

Also, what does it look like in diskpart?
