Hi,
Question about Virtual Infrastructure client and the Edit Settings section.
I've got a windows server - it had a c drive of 10GB, i expanded the virtual disk last week to 20GB using the vmkfstools -X command. Then i logged into the server and expanded the disk inside windows with the diskpart utility.
However when you log onto the VI client the disk size for that server is still registered as 10GB. I have tried to change the setting in VI client and when i do i get a general system error.

Is there a way of getting VI client to accurately report the true size of the disk? and is this important? (as the server itself seems to be fine).

just a thought, do you have the vmware tools agent installed/current on the VM?

Yes.

Btw, i've just looked and VI client now has the right size - 20GB. I don't know when it got updated - i haven't been checking it every day. But i suspect VI client has the right size now since i moved it from one virtual disk to another using vmconverter. Thinking back i wish i'd checked before and after the move - i bet it was that. Otherwise there's been no other change on the esx server.
