Is there way in Crystal XI R2 to let users expand all (or even just multiple) groups in a report?

Currently, when a user clicks on a group it just opens a tab and drills. I'd like to let the users "expand all" so that they can print the report as a non-drillable report or retain the drill capability.

Any ideas?

Yes, but drill down isn't the method as there isn't formulaic control over it, and at best it willprovidedrilldown, not the whole report.

Consider creating a parameter, and if they select show all, unsuppress the details, otherwise just display the groups.

Ya, I realized that after I posted this message. It's frustrating that almost every menu function has formula control except for some like the Drill capability.

I am currently using the DRILLDOWNGROUPLEVEL() function to dynamically control suppressing groups 3-5 while 1-3 are drill enabled. That parameter idea would work...thanks for the tip.

Actually, that wouldn't work as I want group 2 to not be drillable (just display it along with 3-5) when the user selects that show all parameter, otherwise remain drillable . I do not have a detail section in this instance. I suppose having seperate versions of the report will have to do :-/

You might use faux groups, but this could get complicated.

Forinstance you have country, state, and zip groupings.

So create a formula called Countries 2, and place:

{table.country}

Now you can conditionally suppress the upper group which does the same thing if they want the entire report, or suppress this new section and have the drill down enabled in the above group.

Since they're identical, it gives you the required flexibility.

Seems like it would work...
