exp500 74Gb disks problem

A customer of mine recently purchased a exp500 expansion shelf with 10 74Gb disks. The disks (ibm part no 07N4597)are 2GB fibre Ultrastar IC35L07 (manufactured by hitachi).

The customer tried to attach to a Fastt200 with no luck (all the disks come up marked failed when viewed through storage manager)The firmware on these disks is at F588. The customer also tried to attach to a FastT500 with similiar results.

Ive tried to install the lastest disk firmware v1.42 but all the disks listed are the Seagate manufactured disks ST3XXXXX.

Are these Hitachi disks comaptable in FAstts??
