Hi,

When I export the full DB (full=Y) in a .dmp file then can I import only some tables from this .dmp file or had to import the full DB?

Many thanks

Alberton,

You should be able to be selective from a full-database dump file. What troubles are you encountering?

Hi SantaMufasa,

After I do a "exp system/system file=oracle.dmp full=y log=..." the system backup the full DDBB. But then when I do a "imp system/system file=oracle.dmp tables=table_name" it couldn't be executed because it doesn't find the table. That table had been successfully exported in the full .dmp becouse I had seen it in the export log.
The import message is:
IMP-00033: Warning: "table_name" table is not find in the export file.

I don't know if I did something wrong.

Thanks

Did you prefix the table name with the owner of the table and is the user who is trying to do the import a DBA user ?

Id say Dagon's query might provide the answer. Note that the name would usually be in the format <USER>.<TABLENAME>

Note the required period.

I want to be good, is that not enough?

Thank you for the answers.
The import doesn't find the table because it doesn't know the table owner. The solution was to declare "fromuser" setup.
Thanks
