Hello all. I noticed my Exmerge.log file is 32 gigs. Does this file play any important role or does it just log when exmerge is used on the server?

Can I delete or move this file?

Thank you.

the location of the file is \Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin\ExMerge.log

ExMerge.log is indeed just the logfile that ExMerge writes, and can be safely moves/deleted.

However, I'm curious how on earth you ever managed to get an exmerge.log as big as 32GB - are you sure you don't mean 32MB? 32GB is larger than most Exchange stores...

exmerge.log is a pain if you inadvertently try to exmerge a mailbox over 2GB and it get stuck in a tailspin. That could be the reason.

Hello thanks for the responses. I did delete the file and all is well. Yes it was 32 gb. filled with a bunch of this:

[Time] Trying to copy messages in folder '\Inbox\UserName', individually. To avoid duplicates in the target store, messages will be merged and not copied into the target store.
[Time] Error getting Contents Table.

Thanks guys.
