I created a new message in the message catalog, using 25000, 1 - 12. According to the training and instruction I had, 25000 was OK to use for custom messages. Well, apparently not the #1 message. When a user, including myself, makes a change or edits a Job Data (or other page), and then clicks on any other menu choice to exit, and not save, I am getting the first message I created, instead of Do you want to Save Click Ok, or Cancel to continue without saving - not exactly what it says, or used to say, but close. I deleted my 25000, 1 message, and still get the text from that message. I have done a search in App Designer through the entire database, in PeopleCode and HTML, and cannot find it. I checked the table data, and the 25000, 1 message is gone. Where do I go to fix this?

Look at the peoplecode behind the message. Usually if peoplecode could not find the message from the message catalog then it either prints nothing or a default message embedded within the peoplecode. When you create a message you usually ties it to a peoplecode.

I have done all that. I went into our development DB, and do the same procedures, and actions, and get the correct message. So I tracked it down, in that code, and in the related db. I have the message catalog info, and number, which didn't exist in the catalog, so it defaults to the message in the actual code. Apparently I used the wrong message numbers in a message which overwrote the default information somewhere. I deleted the incorrect change to that message catalog, a while back. That didn't resolve the problem. It looks like it got embedded somewhere. I have done a search for the "bad" text string, through the code, sql and html, and nothing. I found the numbers for the message and it looks fine. So I screwed up somewhere.
