Hi All,

My batch file stays open after it's finished executing. How can I make it disappear. I've tried the "EXIT" command but the DOS windows still stays open. Please any ideas ??

Thanks,
FOXUP!

Yes, I'm calling another batch file but that one has a "exit" in it too so it show close also. Any help?

Is the DOS window actually inactive as opposed to 'open'? Does it say 'inactive' in the title bar or when the batch files finishes, is the DOS window sitting there at a command prompt?
There is a properties setting in command windows that says something like 'Close on exit' that can be toggled on or off. Maybe you have that set.
Also, is the batch file completely finished doing what it's doing or is it by chance still waiting to finish a process?

My experience is XP so this may not help.

Because of similar issues I created my batch files in command prompt, no exit required. In fact it required a pause to keep the screen open to see that it worked.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

Put 'start' before your calls to executables or other batch files, e.g.:
Code:
start myFile.bat
start myProgram.exe
