Using Crystal 10 connecting to MS SQL 2000 via ODBC

Is there a way to use existing parameters (created in field explorer) in a query in add command or modify command window?

thanks,
damon

You can either create a parameter within the command (for fastest processing), or you can create a parameter in the field explorer and use it in your record selection formula while using a command as your datasource. In the latter case, however, the parameter appears to be handled locally.

You are correct. I created parameters in field explorer prior to figuring out how to do it in the command windows. From what I can gather, I am unable to use these existing parameters in my command query. If I want to move them from record selection to command, do I have to delete all references to the original parameter, recreate in command and regenerate all references within the report?

I think so. Note that a parameter in a command cannot accommodate multiple values--unless you enter the selected values as a single array in the parameter prompt screen. You might want to explore the functionality before making all of those changes.
