Hi all
I have an existing wireless network driven by a WRT54G which works great. Now broadband is eventually available in my area, is it worth ditching the WRT for a WAG or connecting a broadband modem directly to the router? One observation is, all the companies doing free modem offers seem to be offering USB modems (unless anybody knows different) which is not going to connect to the router. Can somebody give me a good economic solution?

As long as your router has an ethernet WAN port, then you should be all set. Just tell the ISP that you sign up with that you don't want a USB modem. They are optional, not mandatory.

Ditto what cdogg said. Your rotuer is ethernet, so tell them you need an ethernet modem (my cable modem has both so I use the ethernet connection).

The free modem is USB only so I've gone and bought a WAG54. Once I get the free modem I will sell it on Ebay along with my WRT54 which should recoup most of the money.

Thanks for your replies
