First off it's nice to meet all of you, I've been wondering if there is a community of IT professionals out there and if they had a forum! I'm glad to be a new member, it should be nice to hang around and talk IT problems
Just to introduce myself really quick, My name is Nick, I live in Norman, Oklahoma and work as the IT guy for the Oklahoma Conservation Commission. I'm fairly new (and young)to the professional IT world and am not as experience as some of you I'm sure. I've got a strong background in Tech work, repair, troubleshooting, networking, etc, but this is my first time applying it to a professional job. So far it's been going great, better than great. Enough about me.
Anyways, I guess I'll get straight to my question. As some of you know the newest iPhone firmware 2.0 has enabled ActiveSync support for Exchange Servers (Sp2). I personally have one, and my boss and co workers are interested in getting one once I've figured out the ActiveSync issue.
What I do know. My phone is making a solid connection to the exchange server, it connects and gives me the options to sync. The problem is that nothing is PUSHED from the exchange server. I receive no errors, or anything like its just that nothing happens at all. I've been all over the internet, all over forums, asked friends who are also in the field, but nothing is working.
I've tried a lot of setting changes, disabling this, enabling that, etc. We currently run Blackberry support with online web access, and have no problems. I know that the right ports are opened on the firewall (from what I understand the online webmail uses the same ports as the iphone requires for active sync. I also have certificates set up for active sync.
So I guess my question is, does anyone have any experience with activesync issues? Specifically Iphone related? Because I can't even get IMAP to work with my phone (and i assume any phone), so my guess is that it's some setting, a box not checked, or a box that needs to be unchecked type of situation. If I could fix IMAP I bet i could fix ActiveSync.
Thanks for hearing me out
