Executing jar files

There are several threads about .exe files. I have been using a *.bat file to launch my apps. But have found some jar files that start by clicking on them, I know you have to add the startup program to the manifest but I cannot get the jar file to run, errors read like "Cannot find Main-Class RollCall" (RollCall is my app).
Any ideas.

I am not sure in the manner in which you are trying to use Jar files, they are basically like Winzip files....I wrote a FAQ on how to use them, it is listed here....

Ackka....good FAQ, but you didn't say what happens if you want to use the jar for applications.

Basically, you just have to include the jar in your classpath.

I have had problems when gif files are bundled in the jar. I believe that they have to be unjarred so that the app can see them. My Home -->
