Executing FTP commands other then getting & putting a File

Hi guys,
Can I do FTP commands(apart from reading & writing a file) from mercator map, like renaming a file or deleting a file through FTP process. Well I am not sure I want to use a shell script to do this process and execute the shellscript from mercator, but some other method.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out in this.

If I understand the question, yes. You can use FTP get/put in the input card command line and in an output card rule.

It depends on what FTP command you want to do. You don't have to rename the file, just send it with the name you want it to have. If you are sending a file, you can't delete it, if you are doing an FTP get, deleting the file is the default behaviour.
