We have an app/terminal server running server 2003 standard edition. We recently had to rebuild our domain controller which is on another server running Server 2003 enterprise. Since the rebuild, the app server can no longer run executables that are located on network drives even in the case when a local drive is networked back to the same machine. The same exe's run fine from the local drive, and it was always possible to run these either way in the past. This machine also is unable to run the network logon script which of course is stored on the DC. We are able to open documents such as word, pdf, or excel. The message we receive though when opening any type of exe's is that we lack the appropriate permissions to open the file. I am logged on as part of the local admin and domain admin group and have checked both the security and sharing permissions on the volume which both check out fine. I really have a feeling this is probably either a result of some sort of policy that has been enabled on this machine which I can't figure out how to disable or it's possible that in removing and re-adding the machine to a new domain some of the permissions were not set properly. One person said he thought he had seen this before and believed this was the result of a particular http service that was running which locks down the security on the machine, but he was unsure of exactly which service. This machine is definitely part of the domain though and is the only machine and the only one out of three servers that is having this issue. Has anyone seen this before that migh know how to correct this?
