executable locations

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with a question. When you open control panel,or the start menu, where are all of the items located in those folders, where are the shortcuts to the IDIVIDUAL items located.

For example,in windows98 or windows 2000,where can I find the individual shortcut to "Printers" or "Network" or "System".

Or the Start Menu, where do I find the individual items in there.

When you go to control panel and create a shortcut on the desktop for "Printers" and look in the shortcut properties, it doesn't point to anything.

Can anyone help me with those things?
