executable files

i had a worm on my computer and I can't execute my startup files, such as the internet and windows explorer.
I am using windows xp pro.
The worm was removed by norton antivirus but I need to fix my executable files.
If you have a solution please respond.

If you are talking about Shortcuts, Right click on the links and select properties. Make sure they are pointing to the correct location of the exe file.


See if Running the System File Checker program by typing Sfc /Scannow in the Start Run Box will fix it for you.
