Hi, I am running backup exec 8.6 on a windows 2000 server also running exchange 5.5,I have a choice within exec 8.6 to backup...
1. Exchange Directory
2. Exchange Information Store
3. Exchange Mailboxes
My question is what should I choose just to restore deleted or missing email messages? or should I choose everything? and in "lay mans" terms what exactly does get backed up with these options? thanks in advance

To only restore individual mail message all you need to backup is the Exchange Mailboxes.

However to allow you to restore the complete Exchange Server in the event of a server crash you will have to backup the Directory and Information store also.
