Hi,

I hear its possible to create .exe files from crystal report (X), is that true?
In terms of scheduling, this would be interesting, since one would only need the start executable file to refresh data and a set up using windows schedular would then be easy.

If you are asking about compiled crystal reports, no you cannot do that anymore. This was discontinued with v9.

Howeer if you have the developer edition of crystal 10, you can wrap your report in a VB project, add the cr viewer to the project, and compile the project as an executeable.

How do I go about wrapping the report in VB??

In fact, I'm not sure if it matters, but I am using an Access mdb for the queries which I link to my crystal reports. I update the queries with a little program in VBA of course. So I gathered, it would seem a bit weird wrapping the report in VB, but If not a problem, then fine!!

My mission is merely to get my reports executed using window schedular, thats why I thought of a .exe file. But I guess your way would work, too, right??

Thanks in advance.

Actually I just re-read your original post and I have a much better idea. Visual CUT by Millet Software is what you need. This is a crystal reports viewer, scheduler, burster, etc., which uses windows scheduling to automatically run reports. At approx $400, this software is a BARGAIN[\u].

Check out the website for Millet Software and read up on Visual CUT.
