I share the db over network so that more than 1 user can access and add data to this db.

A problem is that when more than 1 user open to add data to db, an message dialog box appear...about exclusively open and changes cannot be saved, ect

Would some body help me with this b/c I'm having a hard time... Thanks in advance

In the database, go to Tools, then Options, then click the Advanced tab, then look for Default Open mode and change it to Shared, from Exclusive.

I have run into this under a Novell Network. Clicking on the shared tab under either the database tools or file rites on the server did not work. What I had to do was open the data tables by themselves (first) on a workstation. This forces a .ldb locking file to be created on the server drive. Others may then access the data through the front end on the workstation. As long as the dtat tables stay open on the workstation the server is forced to maintain the locking file allowing shared access.
