Excluding a file when uninstalling a program

I'm using VB6 and it's related Package & Deployment Wizard to distribute my app.
I noticed that when I uninstall my app, the database file included in my app also gets erased (naturally..right?).
Is there a way that I can exclude files such as this .MDB file from being erased when the app is uninstalled?

animal,

The only way I know how to do this is by changing the log file that gets created during setup - st5unst.log / st6unst.log (I think) - by removing or 'commenting out' the lines for the files you do not want installed.

If it is the database you do not want uninstalled, you could rename the database before you package your application and get your application to copy this file on first use (if the correct database file name does not exist, copy the renamed database file to the correct name). This way, when you uninstall the application, the renamed database will be in the log file and so will be removed, but the correct database name will not be in the log file and so should not be removed.

Hope this helps.

Simon
