exclude measure for some levels

Hi

i want to exclude a measure for some levels. say for example i have a measure COST and levels GROUP -> SUB-GROUP -> ITEM. My requirement is to have the COST only at GROUP level and disable at below levels. please also tell how to do this visa-versa (i mean disable at top and enable for lower levels)

Sudhi,
I reckon the only way you could do this would be if you made the measure an external roll-up.
If you made users use a macro to drill, then you might be able to script a macro to hide/show the measure, but it would hardly be an elegant solution.
(Long-term, it might be worth requesting it as an enhancement.)

its a bit problem for me now. I got data like this

Country Stock
UK 10
DE 90

Country State Trans_Stock
UK S1 10
UK S2 20
DE D1 5


When user look at country level, he should be able to see the Stock and at State level, only the Trans_stock (as I dont have it).

Now wht I am getting 20 at Country level for UK bcoz it for two state records and its summing up. I thought of taking the Maximum, but the problm is at Global level (UK and DE) it take the maximum, where actually i need the SUM of Stock.

hummmmmmmmm i dont know how to resolve this.

Hi Sudhir,

I can suggest you something...
Now u will be having a datasource from where the measure value(COST) is coming,u will also have the lowest level of the dimension(ITEM) in that same iqd,so that the scope of measure applies to all the 3 levels.

What you can do is create a separate iqd for that measure(COST),with only GROUP(the first level) from the dimension present in that iqd.
Now the scope of the measure will be only upto GROUP level..

Am i making sense?

see my second message here, i have the levels country and state. Stock is at country level and Trans_stock is at state level.

as u said, if i bring two datasources as below
1) Data source: Country
Columns: Country, Stock
2) Data source: State
Columns: Country, State, Trans_Stock

and the problem is State is not in the first datasource, its says need to create a link between them.

The alternate way i found is brining a null column in first datasource as State, the bug here is in the cube explorer, i see a blank category (but with the stock value and states without trans_Stock value).
