Exchnge EDB restre scenario

Hi,
Need some (steps) on how to proceed with this scenario.

We had Exchnge 5.5 with user emails from 1/2002 til 5/2005.
We then got a new exchange 2k3 server and exmerged all of the exchnge 5.5 data to the new one. On 1/1/06, our new exchange server storge array died(server is fine). So, we "re-exmerged" data from our 5.5.
Since we were able to exmerge back, all users are missing emails from 5/05(when we exmerged) til 12/31/05(when it crashed) on the current server.
I was able to recover ONLY the edb files. I need to recover the emails from the missing 6 months.
I was going to setup a parallel 2003 server to mount these edb's:
1: whts the best way i should proceed with this?
2: On the parallel server, how can I ensure that new incomng & outgoing emails do not come to it instead of the prodctn server with the missing emails?

You didn't have the E2k3 store backed up?

You should have restored the E2k3 store and replayed the logs.
