Using the Exchange wizard for lotus notes I have found that some notes mailboxes will not export and in fact causes the wizard to hang. I started a long process of trying to isolate emails in the offending notes mailbox that might cause this problem to occur.
After many hours of trial and error I eventually found that a lotus notes email that has a large amount of unbroken text in the body area i.e no carriage returns such as a large distribution list, causes the wizard to crash. To prove this i created a new empty notes mailbox and created one draft email with a large amount of unbroken text (no carriage returns). Sure enough the migration wizard failed. I then edited the email document and put carriage returns in place to break the text block into multiple parts. I tried the migration wizard again and sure enough the mailbox exported without error.
I would love to know if anyone has experienced a similar problem - I cannot find any reference anywhere to this issue. I obviously need to find a workaround as i will soon be embarking on the migration of over 200 users to Microsoft Exchange from Lotus Notes. The kind of workaround i am looking for is either a wizard hotfix (tried microsoft for this and i have the latest versions!!!) or perhaps my best bet is to create a notes agent or document view that will highlight offending emails before we try to migrate.
Anyone please!
