EXCHANGE THRU' VPN?

Hi,

does anyone knows how to setup Outlook to get email from the exchange server when connected only through VPN?
Help please... (we're not gonna be using OWA)

I fought with this for some time, before I found the cure, in our case. Check the HOSTS file on the local machine. Be sure it has a line something like:

192.168.1.1 exchange-nt

This will tell the machine where to look for your exchange server. Note the IP address and server name should match your configuration. Machines going through a VPN don't often get the WINS information properly passed to them.

now another question, can we access internet mail (send/receive) through exchange via vpn? (pop3)

sure you can use pop3 thru the VPN but why would you do that ?

You just set the incoming and outgoing mail server to be the internal LAN address of your Exchange Server
