I have installed Exchange 2000 on a standalone W2000 server which is part of a W2000 domain, actually following the Mastering Exchange Server book by Gerber.

But in Active Directory when I go to enable a user with a mailbox, the option does not appear in the popup box (going to Active Director Users and Computers\Users, right click on a current user, no Exchange Tasks ever appears in the box.

I went to Microsoft's web site and they even have it in their support page Q284224, but installing Exchange System Manager on the domain controller doesn't work either. There must be something on my domain control W2000 Server setup that is not allowing this.

So I'm stumped by not being able to mail-enable a user.

Help!

Can you do it on the Exchange Server?

Are you logged in with the account you installed Exchange with? If so all you need is a box with AD Users and Computers and the ESM. Dan

No, I can't do it on the Exchange Server either.

Sounds like permissions are messed up in AD. Have you changed permissions manually on anything? Dan
