Exchange 'Store' process running 99% CPU 1

We have noticed a strange problem with an Exchange server 5.5 box. The systems seemed slow, when we looked at the CPU utilization, the 'Store' process is running at 99% CPU utilization and will stay there for ever. It is not until we start the Internet mail service that this happens. Any Ideas on what is going on?

There are a number of hotfixes to deal with store at 100% CPU - Google is your friend.
