I am going to try and explain this as best I can so please bear with me.

We have two domains in our forest domain A and domain B. Domain B contains one DC which is the operations master for the forest. Our Exchange server also resides in domain B. In domain A we have two DCs and several other servers. Is there any reason to have the Exchange System Manager installed on both of the DCs in domain A? Does it need to be installed at all?

Correction, The Exchange System Manager is installed on all of my DCs.

There is no need for it to be installed there unless you use the DCs to create new users in which case the ADUC gets extended to allow Exchange tasks.

We do use most of our DCs to create users but I have never seen this installed on a DC before and have never had any problems creating a user account without it being installed.

Some day I am going the merge the two domains so maybe then I won't need to have it installed everywhere.
