Hi folks,
Just arrived at new job and was handed Exchange 5.0 to install. I've never worked with exchange before. My network is 1 server, 1 domain. I got everything to work except the forwarding mail to ISP with out of office rules. Rules work when computer is connected and running Outlook97, but don't work when salesmen take laptop on the road with them. They want their internal mail forwarded to their AOL accounts. I've got internet mail setup on the exchange server but I'm not sure what's wrong.. If anyone has a sample setup example I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks

Out of Office works OK if recipients are in the Global Address List (GAL). You need to setup the AOL accounts as Custom Recipients in Exchange and then you can do 1 of 2 things:

1) Go into the recipient's properties in Exchange and specify an alternate recipient.

2) Use Out of Office to forward mail to the Custom Recipient. (If you forward to a contact in a Personal Address Book, this only works if the PC the PAB is setup on is up and running Outlook.
