Exchange server stops sending emails

Please help, We run Exchange2000 server SP2 with an SMTP virtual server conecting us to ur ISP on a fixed leased line.
We send and receive emails no problem. Then out of the blue the server suddenly stops sending out.
We thought this might be the impact of relaying, butthat was closed down last year.
We can stop and start the server to send these emails, but after a while this gets a bit annoying! Does anyone have any suggestions??

We are experiencing the same problem. SMTP Virtual server just stops.. no error messages.
A restart seems to get things going again, but I'm tired of restarting every 6 to 8 days.
