WHEN I DISCONECT MY INTERNET CONECTION OR WHEN MY ISPs conection is down , MY LOCAL USERS CAN NOT SEE THE MAIL SERVER , SEND LOCAL E-MAILS OR CHECK ANYTHING THROUGH THEIR OUTLOOK CLIENTS.

I AM SEEING THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGE IN THE EVENT LOG.

Process MAD.EXE (PID=2580). All Global Catalog Servers in use are not responding:
XXXXXX.XXXXXXX.XXX
XXXXXX.XX.XX.XXX

ANY SUGGESTIONS ???

How many GC's do you have ?

PS. Your caps lock is on.

It sounds like you are using your ISP for DNS resolution. You should be running DNS internally for your network, and have it forward requests for anything external to your domain (anything on the Internet) to your ISP's DNS.

I am with Crobin1 on this one, I took over a site with the exact same issue. As Crobin1 says you are using the IPS DNS setting not your own.
