We used to have a single server domain, but having grown over the past year we now have a few more machines knocking around the place. I have gradually been moving services that were on the single machine and spreading them around to other server's in the domain. The last thing that needs to be moved is Exchange(ver 5.5). I have a server to move it to and have installed a second Exchange 5.5 site on it. My original intention was to use exmerge to migrate the mailboxes across but have been having problems with this. What i am now wondering is if I reinstall Exchange on the replacement server but this time join it to the existing site and then move mailboxes at al across using the move mailbox wizard, when I take the original machine offline and rebuild it completely, will this have any detrimental effect on the site?
Thanks

Must follow Q on removing first server in the site. That and also replicate Public Folders. Easier to backup first server stop all Exchange and rename server then rename another server to be exchange and install exchange create new org (same as old) and Site and then restore backup and your done.
