First I get this error "dbaexchr.exe:Failed to send packet header. rc=402728774"

Next, I get this error ""MS Exchange Service Message -- Unable to perform an incremental backup because a required Microsoft Exchange database log file could not be found"

Next, I get this error "Backup Agent Error -- (301) "Exchange Server Error. HrBackupPrepare failed. Check Backup Agent Activity Log".
<Information Store> removed from Backup Mode"

Does anyone know how to correct this error"

It sounds stupid but is the log there?
Does this happen with every backup?
If all else fails put the agent in debug.

A note to Exchange Agent Users.

The dbaexchr.exe process only gets launched when a TCP/IP backup of Exchange Database level is bein performed (at least in my experience I can say I never saw it get launched any other time). If the backup job fails, the process will ocasionally not close itself and subsequent TCP/IP backups will fail since the process is already running when it tries to get spawned again.

Here however it sounds as if an expected transaction log is missing that is causing the error. If backups are still failing you may want to look into MicroSofts docs to see what transactions you may be able to manually delete. Also make sure to try a full backup of the databse prior to the next incremental attempt. That should trigger exchange to clear out any un-needed transaction logs.

maybe running a ntbackup would clear the logs?
