My exchange full currently runs 111gb. My exchange diff (still running from last night) is 85gb. This is a backup to disk, no less, very very slow! (13 hours and counting.) Should the diffs really be this huge? As it was explained to me, every time the mailboxes get touched the timestamps are changed so Backupexec thinks it needs to backup stuff that hasn't really changed. Any way to tweak this?

Just checking - have you set the differential in the Exchange section of the job setup, as well as general?

Yes, I have! It still take s a while. Veritas just has a ton of glitches in it. Between my primary and backup domain controllers, the backup times vary widely. A diff will be under 30 minutes for the primary but the secondary can take up to an hour before it even starts backing up files! All of the settings are similar so I have no idea what the time difference would be for. The machines are of identical build and configuration.

what's the log say on the diff and how much "diff" is there? 85GB might be ok for a 6 month diff!!
