I'd like to set up an exchngr server behind a pix 501, for a lab.

I get a ip dynamically from isp. It seems to stay the same for months on end. If it was to change, I do not mind reconfiguring certain commands, as it is a lab with minimal $$.

I do =not= have any static ip's to use.

Can I do this?

yes, you need to use the static command and have it reference to "interface" then it will pull the IP from that interface given..

another suggestion is to get a cheap router, like a Linksys R11. As the last person said, you could just use the static command as well. Do you have another PC around with 2 network cards? You could use linux or microsoft server to make a makeshift router. Who knows, it might even assist in your training.
