Exchange Restore

Is there a way of restoring Exchange 2000 to a member server (AD environment) with an Arcserve backup taken without Exchange agent installed. (Open file agent was used). The hard drive is failing but I can still see the data. I have replaced the hard drive and rebuilt the server exactly the same as the original. (Minus working Exchange of course). Any pointers would be great.

Check MicroSoft's Disaster Recovery document for Exchange 2000 on this, see :

As you have an offline backup available, this should be possible

If you have done the backup using Arcserve agent then you must restore it using it otherwise it won't work.
