hello.
im backing up exchange 5.5 (SP4) on win 2000 (SP3) on Arcserve 2000 (SP4). i know that during backup process, the Arcserve backing up the transaction logs (as part of the IS) but when trying to restore, i cant find these logs. does anyine know if the Arcserve rolls the transaction logs into the IS ? if not, how can i see if the logs has been restored succesfully ?

thanks for the help.

HI,

When the IS backup is done, all the transaction logs that have been committed to the IS are purged by Exchange,,

The logs that have not been committed are backed during the job... you can see this in the log....

when the restore is done.. the IS + Logs + patch files

that were backed up are restored...
When the IS service starts, these logs are played back..

Hope this helps :)

Cheers
