Running NW 7.3.3 on Windows 2003 x64. Trying to do a directed restore of an Exchange SG from xxxe2k4 to a Recovery Storage Group (RSG) on xxxrst2. Exchange server is at one site and RSG is at another. Both Exchange server are running same version of Exchange and NW client. RSG is a client on the backup server. RSG server is in res/servers list on backup server. firewall is wide open for both servers between the 2 sites.

After marking the SG for restore I checked and the tape says it is in the library. When I hit start the process begins and errors out.

Recovering files of client 'xxxe2k4' from server 'rocbkup1' to client 'xxxrst2'.

Hello,

I have exacly the same problem right now....Using a restore from an exchange module backup...

Did you solve the problem?...

thanks for your help

Noronha

The recovery Storage Group of an Exchange servers is tied to a Database of the same exchange server.
To my knowledge it is not possible to restore a exchange Database to an Exchange Server with different name.
This is a Microsoft Restriction.

Thanks for your reply.....I forgot to say, that, in my case, I am restoring to the same server, the recovery storage group is on the same server..

thanks
