Exchange Recovery server restore, DBAExch error 8603

I am currently trying to setup an Exchange 2000 recovery box and recover our databases to it. I have configured the backup agent correctly (it says it authenticated ok anyway...) but when I try to restore using Arcserve 2k SP4 I get the error '8603 EC=Backup Agent Error -- (318) Can not get the information from Registry'. The new server is built as a copy of the production environment and I have managed to get manually copied databases to mount succesfully. I'm tearing my hair out! Has anybody any idea what information Arcserve is after, or why it can't get it? Any ideas gratefully recieved!

HI,

Hi this looks like a problem with the Exchange agent compatibiliy...

Reinstall the agent from an extract of ARCserve SP3 ..
then apply Sp4...

if you install from the base CD labelled "ARCServe 2000"
this problem might occues though you have sp4 applied...

I have installed form the base cd then service packed, so this is quite likely it! Cheers, I'll give it a go.
