Exchange pop account question

I am running Exchange 5.5 on a NT 4.0 domain, only using Exchange as a pop server. Basically Exchange is setup to pop the isp and retreve email. All pop accounts are setup on Exchange not the workstation. Everyone sends and recieves email fine except for one email account. This user Ex. John Doe does not recieve email but can send email. so I deleted:
Nt User acoount
Exchange mailbox
pop account on exchange

created a new:
Nt User acoount
Exchange mailbox
pop account on exchange

The funny thing is the orginal account was John A. Doe
the new account is just John Doe, so when I created a new pop account for exchange it reverted back to John A. Doe!

I deleted everything and the pop account comes up John A. Doe than the new one created John Doe. I think this is why he is not getting any mail. So please am I missing something or what is going on....
